* We are working on music for the Spring PTO program, Jungle Party Tonight It is Tuesday, May 16 at 7:00 pm.
* We studied Carnival of the Animals and enjoyed the lion the most! Click HERE to listen to an excerpt.

* We just finished our PTO program, Star Search.
* We are learning correct boomwhacker technique with several songs from Music K-8 magazines.
* We have mastered eighth notes, quarter notes, half notes, and quarter rests and have played "Rhythm Roundup" to test ourselves.
* April is Jazz Appreciation Month. We have begun learning about jazz with Louis Armstrong's "What a Wonderful World"

* This semester we have begun learning to play the recorder with the Recorder Karate Program. We are practicing hard and testing for belts. Below is Mrs. Bass's class perfecting "Hot Cross Buns."
* We have mastered our notes and the treble staff and played the note chain game to test ourselves.

* We have continued perfecting our recorder technique and are testing for advanced belts in Recorder Karate.
* We have been learning to improvise and create music using household items such as potato chip bags, basketballs, and brooms.
* We are reviewing all notes and rhythms to get us ready for middle school and love taking "quizzes" to test ourselves.

All students in grades 2-5 participate in a listening program where we hear music from all over the world. By the end of the year we will have visited every continent.
