Lilac
What I know:
� There are many kinds of Lilacs, in many colours.
� Around my yard are trees that offer white, pink, blue, and purple flowers.
� They all bloom in the spring (the purple ones last the longest it seems).
� The smell is fantastic, and the blooms make great cut-flowers for the table.
� I don't believe it is very picky about soil-type, but seems to do best where it can get direct sunlight.
� New stems grow up everywhere from the spreading roots.
