What I know:
� Spiky leaves growing in a cluster about 2' high.
� A lot of varieties and hybrids to chose from.
� Another workhorse plant for the garden.
� It prefers bright sun, but will tolerate shade.
� Propogates easily by division - careful cutting to seperate each plant from the mass to maximize the number of plantings or (as I do) dig it up, hack into a few sections with the spade and plant the pieces.
� Some varieties start blooming as early as June or as late as August. However, the peak season for most varieties is the middle to end of June and shows for a couple weeks.
� Very easy to cross-breed.
� Deadheading should not be overlooked for maximum blooming - the flower becomes sticky as it fades and if it happens to lay across another bud it may actually glue the bud shut preventing it from blooming.
