What I know:
A member of the Gladiolus family.
 Flowers in late summer (August/September).
 3' tall flower stalks,
Leaves are swordlike and 18"-24" long.
 Very aromatic.
Not winter hardy, must be lifted in the fall.
Apparently, if they are stored in the dark they will stay white, but if stored in daylight the rhyzomes will turn green (does not hurt them).
Like bright sun, well drained soil.
 Plant after last frost.
 Can be container grown.
