Date: 14th century

-adj.1. Concealed from general knowledge or view; kept hidden. 2. Operating covertly: a secret agent. 3. Beyond ordinary understanding; mysterious. -n 1. Something kept hidden from others. 2. Something beyond understanding or explanation; a mystery. [< L secretus, separate, out of the way, secret.]

It's no Secret that we all have something to hide. It's also no Secret that keeping our own Secrets, let alone those of others, can become unbearably oppressive.

As a public service, therefore, I introduce to you the Secret Depository, a place where you can keep your Secrets, get them off your chest in a manner of speaking. You don't have to use your name, or make up a name, or anything that'll make you more uncomfortable than keeping your Secret already has. And remember that no Secret, like people, is better or worse than any other. Knowing that you took the last cookie can weigh as heavily as the memory of your last affair.

Put your Secret into my keeping, and know that it will forever be safe here.
