1. Overall Ease of Use/Appearance:
How pleasing to the eye is the website? Is it easily navigable? Is it put together well enough that you understand what comes first, next, last, etc? Are there links? And if so, are they well-labelled?
Does the layout make sense to you?
2. Quality of Content:
Is it relevant to the topic? Is it readable? If you were
a Writing Major, would the information on these sites be useful
to you? If so, how useful/why? If not, why not?
3. "Style":
What is the 'style' of the group that presents this web site?
How do
they write/present the information? How does the information and presentation of the site relate to guides like
SpiderPro and
The Web Style Guide?
4. Credibility:
Who writes the pieces of information contained within the web site?
Are they professionals? Do they have degrees, or are they blue-collar people?
Is that information even given? Where do they get their information
from?
5. Commercial vs. Informative:
Is this site for members only? Do they refer to that fact often?
Is the price of membership to the site clearly stated? Or,
is it provided for free, and primarily based on giving information to the
reader/consumer?
