I'll fly away, or I'm a bit soar.
Well, it's happened again. Captain Lee was knocked out just when his leadership would have been welcomed, but a new wrinkle has been added this time. He's been kidnapped.
It all started when Cosmos started feeling bad. We pulled the van over and it was determined that the trauma of the wreck had accelerated his neurological problems to the point where he needed to be sent back to the ship. Lee setup the comm booster and we sent Cosmos, Demian, and Melvin our shipwreck survivor back to the Freedom. In return they sent us the ship's new communications specialist to help with our reception and transporter lock problems. I must admit that I was shocked when I saw her as I've never seen a Skorr before. Damn she's big!
We quickly got the introductions out of the way and started to get back on the road when K said she wanted a turn at driving. Well she flooded (I think that's the term) the vehicle, and had a fit thinking that she had broken the thing. I comforted her as best I could as Lott and T'kee looked at the van and pronounced it undamaged. It was only in need of a short break so the over supply of volatile fuel in the system could evaporate.
While we waited, I considered asking K again what was going to happen on the 30th, but all hell broke loose before I could figure out a new angle to use on her. I'd hoped just being honest with her would do it, but perhaps I need to be a bit more forceful and drag out of her, if I can.
I don't know how it started, but I looked away for just a moment to talk to Lott about the van and I heard a strangled yell from K. When I turned back I found that Lera had started another fight with K. I think it must have been bad because everyone was looking in horror at Lera and K was acting like something was wrong with her mouth. While I watched Lera turned to Lee and asked if T'kee could eat K now. What the hell?!?!?
I was trying to figure out something to say when someone noticed a black car with two people in it slowing down to look at us. T'kee tried to talk to one of the men in the vehicle when he lowered a window to look at us. For her troubles he pulled out a large energy weapon that I know was impossible at this time in earth history and shot at her. This started a firefight with the car, and it proved to be more than just a car. I got my rifle and was getting ready to shoot the automobile, but nearly had a heart failure when I looked up and saw K on top of the car! She jumped or fell off, and when I was sure that she was OK I opened up on it with the intention of disabling rather than destroying it. Most of the shots did little to no damage, but rather than fleeing as I expected; they returned the fire as if the were used to being shot at by energy weapons, and the car was adsorbing damage like it was a tank!
A heavy gun appeared from the grill and started cratering the ground around us, and one of the shots hit the ground near Lee knocking him from his feet. Well, as usual Lee's thin skull couldn't take the impact with the ground and he was knocked out, again. Man we need to get about a meter of padding and put it around the mans head!
Anyway I returned fire and hit the front wheel with a shot that should have destroyed it, but instead the damaged wheel flipped down and became some sort of hover repelled and the car kept coming. I was so stunned I didn't manage to get off any more shots as the front opened up and a set of arms came out and grabbed Lee!
Having grabbed him and stuffed him into some sort of internal holding chamber, I heard one of the occupant's say something about taking him back to their base. I was in the process of upping the output of my rifle to "See you in the next life" when the damn car lifted off and flew away! Now I know for certain that we are dealing with something that should not be. It would be thirty or more years before that sort of tech was available on earth, so as far as I am concerned the Prime Directive is now out the window.
T'kee flew up and tried to follow the car, but it put on a burst of speed and left her behind, though not out of sight.
Now I stand here looking to Lera for direction as the car flies farther away. If she doesn't give us some directions very quickly, I am going to take matters into my own hands. I have my eye on a nice looking two wheeler that is sitting behind the chicken truck I blew up.
