| College Multimedia Project |
| This year instead of doing a college fair for open house, you will be developing a multimedia presentation of a college of your choice to be shared with the AVID class, parents, and possibly other classes. This will be a different type of project in that you will be approaching it from a different aspect--a major or career you are interested in pursuing. You will need the following information in your presentation * College Name and type of College * Location of the college (state and surrounding area) * Mascot * Population of the college along with the ethnic breakdown and male/female ratio * Your major and why you chose this (what career you are interested in) * Units needed to complete the major and estimated years for completion * Cost per unit or cost breakdown per semester or year for a full-time student. (use on campus housing in your breakdown--don't forget about food!) * Is this college on semesters or quarters? * Application process and deadlines (where can you get information?) * Optional: - Any sports or clubs you plan to be a part of while attending college - A particular dorm or housing area you are interested in - How many students are interested in this major or are in this program Your Presentation must include: * The use of some type of technology with the above information * Music (could be the alma mater of the school or music you like) * Handout for the students to look at (can be a brochure, flyer, etc.) * Must be on a disc, floppy, CD, or flash drive * Minimum of 8 slides Due Date will be the week of April 20th * Worth 300 points * If late, 50 points off per day--no passes allowed Projects will be graded as follows: Technology (100 Points) * Minimum of 8 slides * Music * Animation * Quality of Power Point (grammar, spelling, accuracy of data, etc.) * Graphics/Pictures Class Presentation (100 points) * Handout (flyer, important info, spelling, grammar. 38 copies) * Oral Presentation (eye contact, clear and appropriate voice, well rehearsed) College Information (100 Points) * See criterial above ***Remember to site your project and follow the copyright rules we discussed*** **************Above and Beyond Bonus Points******************** Up to 30 points available for projects that go above and beyond the project criteria. (only available to projects turned in ON TIME!) |
