HOW CAN I AFFORD TO GO TO LSSP?
There are many ways that you can raise enough money to be able to attend LSSP. Remember, the LSSP is a service project. So be sure to emphasize it as such. That way, it will be easier to get people to help you go. You can get money from:
1) Your CK Club - Your entire club should want to support you going to the LSSP because the project is working along with the International Service Initiative as it will be enabling and encouraging children to read.
 |
Fundraising: Carwashes are a great example. They raise hundreds of dollars in only a few hours. (Walmart will even match what you make!) Now, your club has enough to send multiple members. Also, whoever helps out that isnt going still gets service hours!

 |
Club Funds: If your club ends up having some money left over from the year, maybe it will decide to use some of it towards LSSP. Perhaps your club might even consider budgeting for it for next year.
|
2) Your Kiwanis Club - Kiwanis clubs usually have a strong financial situation and are always willing to give money to support their sponsored youth programs. Also, they should be eager to want to help out since the project is working along with Kiwaniss same goal of helping children.
3) Your School - Some colleges will fund students trips. Where do think that activities fee that you pay for every year goes towards? You might have a good chance of getting assistance since LSSP is in the summer time and more money could be available. Find out how you can apply.
4) Your Local Community - There are tons of businesses and professionals that would be willing to donate money for your trip. They want to help support their local organizations.

Donation Letters: This is probably the easiest and most effective way to raise money!!! Please refer to the sample letter to get an idea as to what to put in a letter. Feel free to use it verbatim with changes as are appropriate to your club. |
