Vision
: As an NGO, LSPL is
obviously aware to place its position as an independent party in the
way to criticize all kind of environmental decay process happening,
particularly in the North Sumatra territory, and ties itself to the
environmental rescuing solidarity network in Indonesia andthe world.
Learning
from many environmental damage cases happened in North Sumatra and
other places on the earth, the most fragile victims, in fact, is the
poor community which lives near and or around the aforesaid area.
They always are ignored and never involved in the process of
planning, monitoring and decision making, even though those ways
could be a part of determining their life and luck.
Based
on the concern, LSPL should act to make a systematical efforts,
organized , and involving a wide-ranged people element, especially
those are at the grass root level that accept the impact from the
environmental damage in the past, present, and future time.
For
the future thoughts, it needs to realize an open condition to access
and control the aforesaid matter so that people can be involved in
all forms of natural resources management. People should become the
main priority and center for the aims and they should always be
considered from the impact caused by that management and from the
multi-dimensional tailed impact like environmental technical,
economics, social or cultural, and politics. This could be happened
if people’s voices are accepted to be the prime content in
arranging the formulation of the policy on environmental management
based on the unity of creation.
By
this contribution, environmental management can run as it is wanted
to. It also can minimize the bad implication that is, principally,
as temporarily needs precededly more than its sustainability.
To
take this vision, LSPL tries to carry out an investigation and
reflection through several positive and constructive efforts like an
awareness education, advocacy, study, campaign and networking with
other groups or institutions based on similar concerns.
Mission

To
encourage an appearance of people’s critical awareness
toward environment sustainability through developing their
ability and bravery to do control and monitor all kind of
activities of environmental damage around them.
To
encourage and create a condition which makes happen people’s
participation more intense, accesses and controls all kind of
management efforts on environment.
Determine
that the formula and policies execution in environment
management based on considerations of needs of parties who
accept the environmental impact andbased on integrity of creation principles as well.
To
enhance the growing civil society’s institution to develop
their own abilityand
more critical for all efforts done regarding the implication
of the environmental impact assessment in the economy, social,
and political sectors.
