Exposure
Visit Program in Thailand

Since
October 2nd-November 8th, 2001, two
staff from LSPL was sent to visit some POs and NGOs to
Thailand in the scheme of Exposure Program. The program
was supported by Terre des
Hommes Germany Southeast Asia Regional Coordination,
Bangkok. The staff both are field organizer. And they
visited four provinces; Chiang Mai (NDF), Chiang Rai
(ACED), Lampang (CEF), and Bangkok (CLIST).
This
visit was meant as a comparison study to have a direct
view on organizing processes to have been done and been
being done by the Non Governmental Organization in
Thailand as well as seeing from a close on how the POs
themselves develop their group by empowering their own
resources to be a strength that is able to support their
needs economically and
educational sector and its advocacy. It is
intentionally and hoped the result from the program will
affect towards their personal development, working ability
and experiences, so that the experiences can be applied to
add qualities in organizing processes, particularly to
create such brilliant ideas of strengthening the
established groups.
During
the activity period, aside visiting to some POs and NGOs,
they also attended a series of training on gender
held by Center for Labour
Information Service and Training (CLIST) and Regional
Workshop on women workers in informal sector
conducted by Committee for
Asian Women (CAW).
The
program is not only to enhance the insights for the
organizers, to construct and strengthen the networks
condition with other institutions at international level
both in similar concerns and other issues.
