01/11/2000 : St Barts 0 : LSE 1st 5 (BUSA) 2 pm

It was another glorious outing for the teams that played today.

LSE 1sts canned the doctors at St Barts, dropping only 2 sets on the way to a convincing 5 - 0 victory at the Barts Squash courts.

Playing in non-human freezing courts, all 5 LSE players, Justin, E.K., Aidan, Kiran and Shaman carried out a quick and efficient slaughter of their opponents, hoping to get to the food ASAP, and then return back home. It worked according to plan and we were all back home by 6 pm.

Memorable Quotes:
Justin : I feel somethings missing if I don't wear my goggles.
E.K : Anyone wants Thai Food after this?
Aidan : Maybe I can get out of this without taking a shower!
Kiran : Is it best of 3 or 5?
Shaman : The ball's funny, I keep hitting the frame of my racket.

Every one was ready and confidentwe had our full team.  Losing wasnt in our minds.  James was our undisputed number one with Tom closely behind.  Charlie played at number three.  Deepak (our recently imported player) was at number four and the new and improved Magat was our last man.  But there was one problem.   Where were our opponents?  They were one hour late but we wanted to play our first match of the season so badly that we had to wait.  But finally, they arrived.  And they looked goodmaybe too good.  They had their racket bags looking professional.  We were no longer confident  considering that we had to share three rackets between the five of us (Note: two of them belonged to Charlie).  Can we possible lose our first match?
Megat and Deepak played first.  The games looked pretty even.  Megat played like we have never seen him play before, taking his opponent to five games.  His shots were deep and the drives were tight.  He succeeded at the end to the frustration of his opponent.  Deepaks shots on the other hand, were not so tight and deep.  He was two games down when some of our teammate coaching did wonders for his game.  He took the third game in a convincing style.  But unfortunately, the fourth game went to his opponent (9-10) but it could have gone the other way.
The next two were up: Tom and Charlie.  Charlie looked confident on court but lost the first game due to too many Chris Woolley drop shots.  After the usual coaching from his teammate, he managed to put it all together and took the game in style in five games.  Tom, on the other hand, was less troubled by his opponent.  Tom played his usual style, boasting to the surprise of his opponent and took the match in 4 games.
But no one had it as easy as James.  It was a walk in the park, well, that is pushing it.  He took the match with the score of 27-2.
An impressive performance from the boys.  With an unbeaten season so far, lets see if they can keep it up.
