Vs Norton St Phillip 15th May 2005 Result - Norton St Phillip won by 3 wickets; MOTM Twist; Kit Boy NTW; Tea Duty Richards A. With the LSCC squad decimated by a golf weekend the side had to be patched together with 5 non cricketers and a fat kid called Carl. LSCC won the toss and elected to bat with the idea of posting a modest target of 140 to defend. After a fall of a few wickets LSCC looked to be well on their way to establishing a defendable score at 98-3, however the dreaded customary collapse that LSCC have taken a shine to reared its ugly head. The fall of Captain Twist for 45 sparked a flurry of wickets leaving LSCC all out for 126, a good 20 or 30 below what was required. The brie, grape and cranberry sandwiches certainly galvanised LSCC's resolve and got them off to a flyer, Tom bagged Norton's opener Finchy first ball of the innings, and although LSCC grabbed several wickets at random intervals Norton eventually got home with 3 overs to spare and 3 wickets remaining. Tom bowled a mammoth 14 overs and took 2 wickets, Richards A took 2 wickets and debutant Drew also took two wickets. Nick Twist |
