With a close marraige between LSCC and victory this season, Limpley arrived at Norton expecting nothing less than a win to round off a record breaking season. However with wedding bells still ringing in the ears after Simon Norton's wedding, the only record of any note was how meekly Limpley's higher order submitted to the opposition attack. It was left to the Bridesmaids of Limpley Stoke batting to restore some pride. (NB: this paragraph got off to a bad start, but in the cut-throat world of village cricket website writing once you've started with a bad analogy you have to persist with it. The original idea was that I thought it was ironic that Simon Norton got married on the same weekend that we played Norton. At least I didn't go with my first idea which was "Norton eventful weekend". Anyway you get the drift. Noone reads this shit anyway. The only other thing I could think of was "Limpley get roasted" after Nozzer's exploits but it would be unfair to spread things like that on the web). Stats are up. |
