With bad weather predicted the game was reduced to a 20:20 game. Limpley elected to bat first and got all excited with the new format reaching a grand total of 25 for 5. Enter Gregory and Richards A to provide some much needed stability. They pushed the score on to 82 for 7. Owen and Hannell hit some meaty blows and Limpley had something to bowl at, all out for 123.

Marshfield too struggled early on with the new format with not one of their opening five batsmen gaining double figures. Even the fat kid who isn't fat any more fell cheaply. Like the Limpley innings it required a cool head and Whitey and partner Hall batted sensibly to get close to the Limpley total. A clever stumping by Smith off the bowling of Bush sent Whitey back to the pavilion and an athletic piece of fielding from Richards S got rid of his replacement with a run out. So Marshfield just fell short and we were all home in time to watch the Antiques Roadshow.
