LSCC v Corsley

Another solid batting performance laid the foundations for victory in LSCC's latest encounter versus Corsley. That makes it two wins out of two for the boys in white and as competition for places hots up it looks like being a bumper season.

Twist and Richards A opened proceedings on a tricky wicket, both dismissed cheaply. Twist will need to improve if he intends to make a valid attempt on reaching the 2000 run landmark, something no other batsmen has achieved in LSCC history.

What followed however was an unprecedented batting display with three fifty-plus partnerships. First was Gregory/Kendall putting on 63. Kendall hit two big sixes but failed in his attempt to clear the road costing him £5 in a bet with Twisty. Gregory was stumped by A Pratt for 30. Clark came in and out in the blink of an eye.

Next came Richards S and Skipper Smith. Smith scored quickly to reach 49 and a partnership of 75 before guiding the ball to gulley, out caught. Richards S then on 25 picked up the pace aided by Bush. It must be pretty disheartening for the opposition to see Bush in at number 8 twat first ball straight over the bowlers head. Richards S completed his fifty and held on for a not out. Bush made a quickfire 20 contributing to a 59 partnership. LSCC finished 218 for 6.

Tea was supplied by Gregory, Kit-boy was deservedly Twist. Oh! and Corsley made 158, the worst batsman ever to make 88, made 88, Kendall 4fa, Norris 3fa.
