Another Sunday, Another outstanding innings from Skipper Smith. Limpley continued their record-breaking season, Smith got his second century (a record), posting a record innings (161) and Limpley compiled their highest ever total (278). Another plus point was the bowling of Twist and Gregory, could they be the answer to Limpley's bowling crisis? So the Smith bandwagon rolls on. He opened with Twist, accumulating runs quickly with some big boundaries. Twist succumbed early bowled by Mr. Greenwood. Kendall's innings too was short-lived. Only Gregory, Richards A and towards the end Tyrie M provided meaningful contributions. Smith meanwhile hit yet another six and collapsed to the floor seemingly with back trouble. He soldiered on to pass 150 and later came back on to nudge past Sticky Bun for Limpley's highest ever innings. Smith handed over the captains armband to Richards S for the Canal Tavern innings. As usual Kendall and Norris opened the bowling. Norris bowled economically only conceding 22 from his 8 overs. Canal Tav scored steadily if unspectacularly. Richards S, short of bowling options gave Gregory and Twist their chances. Both grasped them eagerly, Twist particularly bowled aggressively and will surely be included as an all-rounder from now on. Canal Tavern reached 219, never threatening the Limpley total.
