Charity cricket match attracts local celebrities Local people are invited to watch celebrities battle it out in a fast-paced charity cricket match on Friday 13 July. Spectators could come away with a raffle prize such as VIP tickets to see England play at The Oval or a day at Combe Grove Manor. Well-known local league side Limpley Stoke Cricket Club will take on a specially formed team ‘The Hutchinson Allstars’ in a speedy Twenty20-style game. The Allstars team includes Bath rugby star Alex Crockett, local boy turned rock legend John Tilley from the band Kubb and sports journalist Mike 'The Voice' Tremlett. PROPS is a Bristol-based charity that improves the lives of local children and young adults with special needs. The money raised will buy interactive special needs equipment, such as a midicreator. Rugby player Crockett said: "I am delighted to be able to join the Allstars and am looking forward to the day. We are all aware of PROPS at Bath Rugby and it'll be great to be playing for such a good cause." Businesses and players have donated an exciting range of raffle prizes to help raise extra money for the charity, including boxing lessons with a world champion, VIP tickets at the Oval for England vs India, a day at Combe Grove Manor, and a glider flight lesson. All visitors are very welcome – bring a picnic and join in the fun. Refreshments will be available. Tickets are not needed in advance, entry costs £2 payable on the day, gates open at 4pm and the game begins at 6pm. For details visit www.hutchinsonconsultancy.com. The event is being organised by Scott Hutchinson, local businessman and sponsor of Limpley Stoke Cricket Club. Hutchinson Consultancy has also supported PROPS by providing kit and vital equipment for Vicky Ryan who completed the toughest footrace on Earth ‘Le Marathon Des Sables’ over 6 days in the Sahara Desert earlier this year. |
