Open Show
The Open Show is essentially a conformation show for horses. In it, the horses are divided up into four groups, and the groups are divided up into breeds. The four groups are: Heavy/Draft, Light/Pleasure, Miniature, and Pony. When you enter your horse, you must enter it in the correct group and list the breed correctly as it is written on the standard. You must also submit a picture of your full-grown horse in a show pose with the head either facing to the side or towards the camera. Please do not enter more than four horses per breed per show. The judges will judge the horses based on how well they fit the LSAPC breed standard.

Open Show Judging
The judge will carefully look at each entry for a breed and if there are three or more entries will determine who the BOB (Best of Breed) and a BOS (Best of Opposite Sex) should be. BOS is only awarded if there are at least 2 remaining horses of the opposite gender of the BOB winner. If there are not enough horses to award a BOB, the judge will pick a DW (Default Winner) from that breed to compete in the group. They will then move on to the rest of the group awarding placements as well as moving on to the other groups. Either immediately after a group is judged BOB, BOS, and DW the judge may award a G1 (1st place group winner) and a G2 (2nd place group winner) for the group, or they may do this after they have judged all the groups and do such for each group. All of the G1 winners from each group will compete in for BIS (Best in Show) and RBIS (Reserve Best in Show). The judge will finally decide upon winners for those and then be able to post their results on the forum.

Open Show Points
You must keep track of your horses' points yourself, but all the old show results will be archived on the forum and website to make it easier for you. The points awarded for open shows are as follows:
BIS - 7
RBIS - 6
G1 - 5
G2 - 4
BOB - 2
BOS - 2
There are no points awarded for DWs.

Specialty Shows
Specialty shows are conformation shows for a specific breed or group. The rules are the same as for the open show except that there is also the Champions Competition and unlimited entries. The entrants will be judged on how well they fit the LSAPC breed standard.

Specialty Show Judging
The judge will carefully consider all the entrants and award a BIS (Best in Show). Then the judge will relook at all the horses of the opposite gender and award a BOS (Best of Opposite Sex). Finally, the judge will relook at all the remaining entrants and award AOM (Award of Merit) placements depending on the amount of entries and the quality. The results will then be posted on the forum. Please note that BOS is only awarded if there are at least two other entrants of the remaining gender and the AOM is only awarded if there are six or more entries total for that breed.

-Champions Competition: In the Champions Competition horses that have completed their LSAPC championship and have proof (list on LSAPC site). The judge will decide upon a BOB and BOS winner as in the Open Show format. The wins are the same amount as the specialty show points; the difference is that they are going for your GrCH title.

Specialty Award of Merits
The number of AOM placements are determined by how many entries there are in a show. These numbers are the total of all the entrants in one breed. When written on show results there is no order and their gender does not matter.
6-10 - one AOM
11-15 - two AOMs
16-20 - three AOMs
20-30 - four AOMs
31+ - five AOMs

Specialty Show Points
You must keep track of your horses' points yourself, but all the old show results will be archived on the forum and website to make it easier for you. The points awarded for Specialty Shows are as follows:
BIS/BOB - 4
BOS - 3
AOM - 2

Classics
Classics are big shows that have several classes that you may enter. You may enter any or all of these classes. The classes are all judged separately. You can have unlimited entries. The following is an explanation of the rules and judging for each class.

-Halter: Same rules/judging as the Open Show (listed above), except that you are allowed unlimited entries.

-Dressage: Dressage tests the quality of the horse's movement. You must enter a picture of your horse at a "trot" (the equivalent of the walk for dogz). The horse should be looking either to the side or to the camera. The horse's legs should form an "M." The horse should look relaxed. For dressage, all the entrants are judged together. They are not divided up into breeds or groups. The judge will award a first place, second place, third place, and HM (Honorable Mention). First is only awarded if there are two or more entries. The places after first place are only awarded if there are at least two other entries left. For example, there must be at least three horses entered in the class in order to award second place, at least four horses in order to award third place, and so on.

-Hunters: This is a jumping class that is judged on the horse's form while jumping. To enter, you must submit a picture of your horse jumping through the gold hoop. The horse should be looking foward. The entrants are all judged together and are not divided up by group or breed. The judge will carefully look at the form of each animal and award first place, second place, third place, and HM (Honorable Mention). First place is only awarded if there are two or more entries. The places after first place are only awarded if there are at least two other entries left. For example, there must be at least three horses entered in the class in order to award second place, at least four horses in order to award third place, and so on.

-Baby Halter: This class is for young horses who are not yet full grown. It follows the same rules/judging as the Open Show (listed above), except that the horses are not full grown and you are allowed unlimited entries.

-Champions Competition: Only LSAPC horse champions that have proof (list on LSAPC site) are allowed to compete in this competition. Horses are judged similar to those in the Open Show format though the wins go towards their GrCH title and do not effect any horses besides the champions.
