January Meeting:
Is scheduled for January 11, 2004 Officer's Meeting will be at 1:30 p.m. and the General Meeting will be at 3 p.m.

Career Success Luncheon:
For our December meeting we had Linda Wallis from Employment Resources, who invited us to their "Career Success Luncheon." It will be held in BU 103 from 12:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. on February 17, 2004. Tickets for the luncheon will cost $7.00 (but will be paid by our chapter if when you sign up to go, that you actually attend), and these tickets can be purchased in the Employment Resources Office, room CC251.
This luncheon is open to all current Longview Students, Representatives from area companies will present on the topics below. For the list of presenters be sure to stop by and ask Linda.
  Topics include:
     Non Traditional Hiring
     Procedures
     Economic Climate
     Employee Characteristics
     Employee Testing
These individuals will this year also be sitting at the tables with us, to facilitate questions, and networking.
So come and take advantage of this great opportunity to learn what the job market is currently, how to network, and what employers are looking for in today's market.

Award Committee:
At the December meeting Diane had a sign up sheet passed around for those who wished to help in the writing of the essays needed for the awards that are due in February. At this time it was decided that supplemental meetings would be held on January 10th & 17th, 2004 at the Borders in Lee's Summit, Mo. The hours at this time are tentatively set for either 2 or 3 p.m.
For those who wish to get theirs done before classes begin again, and need help with editing, grammar, and so forth Diane has volunteered to do so if you e-mail her the attachment. You must adhere to the guidelines set forth in the essay that Diane will give you to be accepted by the committee that is judging it. This also will go towards your 5-star status program, and you can ask Diane or Kim just what category this project meets. Once done contact Kelly who will make sure you are credited for your participation. Thanks to all who wish to help in this!!
