Dear Classmates & Friends,
This disease reaches into every family, neighborhood and workplace.
In 2003 the East Sussex Relay For Life invited me to join their event to provide round-the-clock music and keep spirits high during the 24-hour event. The Relay participants, cancer survivors and event staff enjoyed the energy and entertainment I brought to their event so much, they asked me back for 2004 before the event was even over ! Naturally I gave an enthusiastic “YES!”
In addition to my own entertainment, there were other live performers, clowns, face painting, games and contests to keep the teams active and motivated throughout the overnight event.
This year they have asked me to chair the Entertainment Committee. In 2003 the entertainment costs were underwritten by a local realtor. This year that company is having a team participate, and their sponsorship funds are going to that team’s efforts.
I am seeking donations sponsorships to underwrite the entertainment expenses. Though many things are donated for the event, some things are acquired at reduced rates. There are many costs involved with being a 24 hour source of strength for all those teams ! Lights, additional sound equipment, special music, prizes, balloons, face paint, and much more. In a nutshell, I am a team of one looking for sponsors. I have registered myself as team: "That's Entertainment!"
Relay For Life is an annual event to raise fund for the American Cancer Society, which is the largest private non-profit source of fund for cancer research in the country. Relay is held all over the country each year, and is an amazing event that reinforces the message that today more and more people are surviving cancer.
Some of you may have been a part of Relay’s success before (thank you!), and for others this may be the first time you’ve been asked to support the event.
Donations and Sponsorships may be on any level, and there are benefits and publicity for corporate sponsorships. No amount is too small - $10, $20, $50, whatever you feel comfortable giving.
If your donation/sponsorship is in honor or memory of someone special, please let me know and I will write their name on the special Hope cards that will be placed around my entertainment area.

If you are unable to donate, please uplift all of us in your prayers on May 7th & 8th (Mother's Day Weekend) as we walk with the hope to end cancer in our lifetime.

uplifted.
