Proposed 2007 Peter and Emma Smith Family
Reunion
A committee to organise the Peter Smith/ Emma Harete Reunion has been formed with the following officers being elected by those present at the inaugural meeting held in April this year.
Chairman - Hori Harvey - grandson of Tuehu Smith
Secretary - Lyrae Smith - great granddaughter of Wi Smith
Treasurer - Leslie Heather - grand daughter of Wi Smith
The other committee members consist of two(2) representatives from each of the seven(7) whanau of Peter and Emma. Those selected by their whanau to date are;
Ruiha - awaiting names of reps
Henrietta - Karen Gillette - great granddaughter and one more to be selected
Charlie - Potiki Nikora - great granddaughter
Wiremu - Yvonne Skudder - great granddaughter, Hyran Smith - grandson, John(Peep) Smith - grandson.
Rewi - awaiting names of reps
Joseph - awaiting names of reps.
Others invited to attend the meetings are Dame Georgina Kirby, granddaughter of Charlie, Howard Smith grandson of Charlie, Ngatai Smith, Taunoa Smith both grandsons of Tuehu.
Committee meetings will be held monthly at alternating venues and also it is planned to convene meetings of all descendants in
Hawkes
Bay, Nuhaka and the
Bay of
Plenty.
We invite all readers of this Reunion website and descendants of Peter and Emma to:
1. Provide us with your email addresses so you will be placed in our mailing list to receive all monthly minutes of our meetings and regular panui that will be sent to all addressees.
2. Contact our Chairman Hori Harvey on his email address firstly to identify your descendancy from Peter and Emma and how each can contribute to the success of this reunion.
3. Provide our committee with your family files. We intend to publish a Reunion Booklet which will contain all descendants of Peter and Emma and their relationshipss to them in family files. It is also important that we have this information so we can ascertain the prospective numbers of attendees for the reunion which will greatly assist us with our planning.
