Welcome to the Peter Smith family history site. This Peter Smith site has been published to coincide with the proposed Peter and Emma Smith Family Reunion 2007 to be held in Nuhaka, the birthplace of this huge dynasty of Smiths.

Hachem and Tauarai Smith produced a large family of multi-talented people. These in turn produced even more multi-talented folk.  Peter Smith is one of these children. Peter Smith is the fifth child of Hachem Johann Smith and Tauarai Parapara KureKure TeMau Smith. Peter Smith married Emma Harete(Hallet) Ellis, the daughter of Captain James Ellis (aka William Ellis) and Taupeka of Opotiki. Peter Smith and his wife Emma had 12 children.
