Students who plan on attending a Nebraska Community College need to be at least 16 years old. However, most diploma and degree programs require that students must have also graduated from an accredited high school or completed the requirements for a GED. The majority of community colleges require that incoming students take the ASSET Basic Skills Assessment Test. This test is used to determine level or prepartion and class placement. A solid foundation in English, Math, Science, and Computer Experience is also an asset for students who will attend a community college.
