| Hello everyone! It has been a really long time since I updated this website. We have had a wonderful time living in Maine and I really haven't used the computer much. There were several months of computer problems as well, and we ended up rebooting, losing everything. But enough excuses! The time has come for us to transfer. We are headed to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba on March 18! All of us are excited about the move and looking forward to the warm weather. It is definately an emotional move since the kids and I formed some close friendships. However, Joe has been away at telephone school since October (with a 2 week visit over Christmas) so being together again takes the edge off. Joe has enjoyed learning a new trade and is looking forward to working with his hands again. He loved teaching survival and resistance here in Maine, and would do it again if the schedule wasn't so crazy! Being in Texas was very boring for him and the "bootcamps" drove him nuts - he can't wait to get back! As for me, there isn't much to say. I graduated 1st in my class from Mid State College last May and have been catching up on projects around the house, spending lots of time with the kids, and enjoying my free time. I'm looking at going back to work when Morgan starts kindergarten in the fall - pretty scary since I havcn't worked outside the home for 7 years! We'll see what my options are when we get settled in Cuba. Alex is sailing through school and seems to enjoy it. He is in the Gifted Education program for language arts and social studies, which is his favorite part of school (expect for recess, of course!). He has made a lot of friends here and it will be hard for him to leave them. Alex is having surgery to fix a hernia February 24. It is a routine operation and he should recover pretty quickly. Right now he is into legos and reading. Morgan has been loving her second year of preschool. Her only complaint is that she wants to learn "hard stuff"! She really wants to keep up with Alex and is working on learning to read. Morgan is taking Acrodance lessons and looks forward to her weekly class. She is a little disapointed that she won't be in the recital this year, but we are hoping to get her involved in something when we settle in our new home. Her love of animals continues, especially horses and dogs, and playing make believe is her favorite pastime. So that's the very short version of what we have been up to. I plan on updating our web page on a regular basis once we are settled in Cuba. Please keep in touch! Take care everyone. |
