Timeline of Star Wars Movies:

 EPISODE I     THE PHANTOM MENACE (32 YEARS BEFORE A NEW HOPE – BBY 32)

 A thousand years of peace is suddenly shattered when an evil Sith Lord, Darth Sidious, secretly engineers the occupation of the peaceful planet of Naboo by the greedy Trade Federation. Jedi heros Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi journey to Naboo to rescue the planet's brave youug leader, Queen Amidala. During their escape, they discovered an amazingly gifted nine-year-old slave boy named Anakin Skywalker, strongerly attuned to the Force. Qui-Gon introduce Anakin to the path of Jedi and Queen Amidala returns to Naboo to liberate her planet.

EPISODE II    ATTACK OF THE CLONES (22 YEARS BEFORE A NEW HOPE – BBY 22)

 Ten years have passed and the Galactic Republic is in turmoil. Count Dooku, a former Jedi, leads a popular Seperatist movement that has split the Republic and pushed it to the brick of war. Senator Padmé Amidala of Naboo, a strong opponent of the war, becomes the target of an assassination attempt. This prompts Supreme Chancellor Palpatine to put her under the protection of the Jedi Knights. Anakin Skywalker is assigned to protect Padmé, and while sequestered, the two fall in love. Meanwhile, Obi-Wan Kenobi's investigation leads to two alarming discoveries: the Jedi have secretly commissioned a clone army, and the Separatist are preparing a droid military force of their own. This leads to the outbreak of the Clone Wars

EPISODE III   Revenge of the Sith (20 YEARS BEFORE A NEW HOPE – BBY 20)

 The galaxy is weary after three long years of war. Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi have becone legendary heros in their campaings aginast the droid forces of the evil Gereral Grievous. Anakin and his secret wife, Padmé Amidala. have been separated for months, and he finally reunites with her to learn that she is pregnant. He is plagued by visions of her dying in childbirth, haunting images of a possible future. Anakin is determined to stop her from dying, no matter the cost. This leads Anakin doen a dark path to commit terrible deeds. Obi-Wan Kenobi must face his former apprentice in a ferocious lightsaber duel on the fiery world of Mustafar.

EPISODE IV  A NEW HOPE (0 YEARS BEFORE A NEW HOPE – BBY 0)

 The Jedi Knights have been extermined and the Empire rules the galaxy with a iron fist. A small group of Rebels have dared to fight back by stealing the secret plans to the Empire's mightiest weapon, the Death Star battle station. The Emperor's most trusted servant, Darth Vader, must find the plans and locate the hidden Rebel base. Princess Leia, a captive Rebel leader, sends out a distress signal that is intercapted by a simple farm boy, Luke Skywalker. Seizing his destiny. Luke takes up the challenge to rescue the princess and help the Rebllion overthrow the Empire, along with such allies as the wise Obi-Wan Kenobi, the cocky Han Solo, the loyal Chewbacca and the droids R2-D2 and C-3PO.

EPISODE V     THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK (3 YEARS AFTER A NEW HOPE – ABY 3)

 It is a dark time for the Rebellion. After a devastating attack on their ice base on the frozen planet of Hoth, the Rebels are scattered by Imperial pursuit. Luke Skywalker seeks out the mysterious Jedi Master Yoda in the swamps of Dagobah, while Han Solo and Princess Leia outrun the Imperial fleet to the beautiful Cloud City of Bespin. In an attempt to convert Luke to the dark side, the evil Darth Vader lures young Skywalker into a trap. In the midst of a fierce lightsaber duel with the Sith Lord, Luke faces the terrible truth about Skywalker legacy.

EPISODE VI    RETURN OF THE JEDI (4 YEARS AFTER A NEW HOPE – ABY 4)

Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia must travel to Tatooine to free Han Solo by infiltrating the wretched stronghold of Jabba the Hutt, the galaxy's most loathsome gangster. Reunited, the Rebels team up with tribes of Ewoks to combat the Imperial forces on the forest moon of Endor. Meanwhile the Emperor and Darth Vader Conspire to turn Luke to the dark side, and young Skywalker is determined to rekindle the spirit of the jedi within his Father. The Galactic Civil War culminates in the ultimated showdown, as the Rebel forces gather to attack the seemingly defenseless and incompleted second Death Star in the battle that will determine the fate of the galaxy.
