This movie hit the theaters on December 6, 1991. It involved the Klingons a lot and had a great, mysterious plot.

Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country, Summary:
This movie starts out with Captain Sulu of the USS Excelsior studying gaseous anamolies. The crew encounters a giant shockwave that originated from the planet Praxis, a Klingon moon. The incident is reported.
At StarfleetHQ, a few months later, Spock decides to help the Klingons out, since Praxis was their key source of energy production. The Starfleet council agrees and they pick Kirk and crew to lead the mission. Kirk complains stating he hates the Klingons, mainly for killing his son in ST III. He goes along with it anyway, even though he is retiring in 3 months. The Enterprise then headed off.
Once they rendevoued with the Klingon ship, Kirk reluctantly aksed the Klingons to dine with them. They accepted and it...sorta went well. After they left everyone was relaxing when the Enterprise firing 2 photon torpedos at the Chancellers' ship. Not knowing what happened the Enterprise went to red alert status and tried to determine what happened. They found that their databank said they fired the shots, yet their torpedo bank was full. The Klingon ship was badly damaged when two people wearing Starfleet uniforms and magnetic boots beamed aboard and mudered many people,so Kirk and McCoy went aboard to try to help. The Chanceller sooned died and Kirk and McCoy were charged with the assaination of Chanceller Gorkon. The trial proved no sucess and the two were sent to a mining camp on the ice planet, Rura Penthe. Back on the Enterprise with Spock in command, everyone was still trying to put the pieces together. Spoack had put a transmitter on Kirk before he went to the Klingon ship, so the crew could trace them. They knew were they were, they just didn't know how to fly into Klingon space without being blown to pieces. Since this movie is a mystery, I will leave it to you to finish the story.
