Character's Full name:
Madame Janine Giry
Occupation:
Boxkeeper and ballet mistress of L'Opera du Paris
Physical Description:
Madame Giry is slender, tall and pale. She has immaculate black hair held back by pins in a perfect bun and nearly black eyes to match. Out of respect for her dead husband, Jules, she wears only black and on rare occasions she will donne a beaded shawl for festive events. She can always be heard before she is seen due to the thunking of her walking stick.
Friendships/Relationships:
Meg Giry, her daughter
Christine Daa, her psuedo-daughter
"Friends," if you can call it that, with L'Fantm de L'Opra.
Personal History:
Madame Giry was born in Paris and grew up in the corps de ballet of L'Opera du Paris. She was quite a technically skilled dancer and excelled quickly to the head of the corps but her career as a prima ballerina was cut short by an injury to her right ankle (which she favors with the use of her ominous silver knobbed walking stick) in her mid twenties. Devastated from the injury, Madame Giry signed a contract with the opera to keep her as the box keeper and ballet mistress. She has since ensured her employ by creating a mysterious connection with the Opera Ghost. Her daughter, Meg, is now head of the corps, thanks to some heavy influence from L'Fantm. She is as promising a dancer as her mother and Giry is extremely over-protective of her only child.

...The... League?? Monsieur! I would never...! La Revolution? I wear my tri-colour, same as the next citizen, but secretly hope to escape Paris and move to London with my daughter so she can dance freely at the English ballet.
