EUROPE (Back)

Europe is one of the most prosperous continents in the world. With the forming of the European Union, it also seems as if Europe will play a greater role in the future of the world. The Europe of today needs the message of the Gospel. The Europe of today needs workers that are willing to impact people and a group of nations that desperately need God.

People from European descend have great potential to impact and evangelize the European citizen. It is becoming more difficult to enter Europe, but Christian workers are needed to play a role on this continent.

There are also great opportunities in Europe. In big cities like London and Paris, there are more than 1 million Muslims that can be evangelized freely. In London many of the neighbourhoods have been taken over by Muslims from Pakistan, Africa and other countries. Many of these countries are closed to the preaching of the Gospel. But in London you can speak to these people freely without the fear of being persecuted or thrown into jail. Many of these Muslims still have regular contact with family at home. These Muslims are also open and friendly and it is easy to approach them in the markets and on the streets. The Local Churches can take notice of these opportunities and with big numbers of South Africans already in London, use this opportunity to impact people that are lost, deceived and far from God.

Many of the young South Africans in London are also lost, deceived and far from God. If South African churches can establish local churches in London, it can create the opportunity to evangelize the whole of Europe. From London, due to the short distances between London and the rest of Europe, it is possible to plant and establish churches all over Europe. In France and Belgium there are many communities that have no evangelical churches. Cross-cultural Evangelism is very effective and as a foreigner, you already have the attention of the people. The northern part of Belgium also speaks Flemish that is very close to Afrikaans. It should therefore be easier for South Africans to relate, impact and evangelize the Flemish.

There are many opportunities, we must just take our focus away from our own problems, be available to God and get a strategy to impact Europe. Europe is still open to freely preach the Gospel. If we don't use the time that we have, this might just change in the future.
