Do you want to know why the mountain gorilla is an endangered species? Well, I'm here to tell you. Today, there are less than gorillas left in the world ranging from only 300 to 500. This is mainly due to the fact that most of their habitats are gone. Unlike tigers, leopard and elephants that are hunted for their valuable materials that they produce, mountain gorillas have nothing at all that they can provide for man. In fact, they do not even have any affects or whatsoever that brings any close contacts to humans but instead, they are only the unfortunate bystanders who are surrounded by the chaos. War has been raging through Africa (habitat of the mountain gorillas) for a number of years and because of this, the projected gorilla population declining to at the highest 50% due to a decline in area of occupancy. Fortunately, recently, many organizations have been formed that help conserve mountain gorillas and even you can help by clicking the following link and joining an organization!!!
