John Archer Lejeune. His statue stands at New Roads. He practically invented the US Marine Corps as it is today.

One of the many piers at a town called New Roads. New Roads sits at the edge of False River. False because it's a lake. There are a string of houses up the lake each with it's own pier. The houses are built for relaxation and there was no greater indicator of that than the one we passed that was called "Sit and Spit".
Ma Mama's restaurant at New Roads. Very nice by all accounts. Looks kind of New Orleanean.
Orange Grove Plantation Store. Actually a now defunct antique shop, but very sweet.
The Shopping experience. I finally got to go to a Piggly Wiggly! I bought bananas and pop.
The Frostop restaurant, Baton Rouge. The one on the right is ever so slightly touched up, but then I thought I could make my fortune by sending it to Fortean Times........ or maybe the Weekly World News would be more appropriate!
A nice tree
