These were taken a few weekends ago when we went for a drive along the Mississippi River Road. We went south and east of the river on Saturday.................................. |

This is not what it looks like..... and I know what it looks like! It's actually a crawfish mound which was right by the church. Because a lot of the surrounding area is wetland, these are everywhere! |

Further along the River Road is Indian Camp Plantation, a former leper colony. It's now a National Guard outpost and a school but there are still 30 or so elderly leprosy patients on the camp and several Daughters of Charity, an order of Catholic Nuns who take care of them. What a lovely trip out! We made a day of it....... we took sandwiches! |
