Robson Street is Vancouver's premeire shopping street. Most of the best and well-known clothing stores have a shop on this street. It is also a very popular restaurant street ranging from Greek food to Japanese food.
In fact, there are ton of little Japanese stores along Robson Street and around it. A lot of the international students in Vancouver are Japanese or Korean. They often come to Vancouver, usually in the summer, to enroll in English classes to improve their English. Most of these students live downtown because it is very convenient there. So, many shops have Japanese service.
Gastown is the old historic part of Vancouver. The streets are still paved with old bricks in this part of town. The street lamps are designed to be from an older time.
Gastown is a popular place for tourists. There are mainly souvenir shops here. For locals, the only reason to go to Gastown is either a restaurant or a night club.
