Topps issued 14 autograpgh cards in total for The Fellowship series. These could originally be found in packets of "Hobby" or "Retail" boxes. The Boromir card was an exclusive to the UK and could not be found in packets. You can discover the odds of finding these cards by placing your cursor over the cards.
The value of these cards can differ considerably in value and sometimes scarcity does not always equate to the price of the card. Collectors of autographs of well known and admired actors such as Orlando Bloom (Legolas), may just collect his card and no others. Adversely, as Boromir was never issued in the USA and unavailable in packets, some choose to shun this card unfairly.
I believe that the true value of many of the cards will not be realised until many years after the trilogy, as normally the excitement and hype close to a films release does result in overinflated prices being paid sometimes. At the end of the day, set yourself a sensible limit, pay for the card what its worth to you and not necessarily what its worth to others, and most of all, enjoy! I have discovered that eBay is a ready made shop window for buying these cards, but do not expect to pick them up too cheaply. Enjoy what is a fascinating hobby and take pride in your collection, big or small.
