-Only 16 days left for Return of the King to hit stores!!

- If you've been collecting the incredibly long line of Action Figures released by Toy Biz, keep an eye out for the next installment coming in July! After the film series ended in December, so did the film figure lines.  But Toy Biz found it in their hearts to re-release some of the original figures in what's known as the Trilogy packaging.  Not only that but a whole new line of new characters and perfected old ones. 


- EA Games is releasing a new PC Game (Battle for Middle-Earth) and a new RPG console game for PS2, X-Box and GC. For more info go to the links on the images below::

The Lord of the RIngs: The Return of the King is scheduled to arrive on DVD and VHS on May 25th, 2004!! Sadly, the Extended Version is still stuck all the way down in November, so we'll have to patient.

- Director, Peter Jackson, confirmed the length of the Extended Version for Return of the King to be 4:10 hrs, meaning there are 40 new minutes of extended and new scenes.  New and Extended Scenes are RUMORED to include:

- Extended scene featuring the face-off between Gandalf and Saruman and the breaking of the evil wizard's staff, ending his rule  as head of the Istari Order.
- Extended Scenes of Arwen and Elrond in Rivendell.
- Extended sequences in the Battle of the Pelennor Fields.
- Extended scenes in the Paths of the Dead.
- New Scene featuring Merry being dubbe esquire of Rohan and owing allegiance to Theoden.
- New Scene featuring Eowyn and Faramir meeting in the Houses of Healing.
- New Scene featuring Aragorn looking into the Palantir and presenting himself to Sauron.          
- New Scene featuring Denethor looking into the Palantir and seeing the fall of Minas Tirith.
- New Scene, the famous Mouth of Sauron face-off before Morannon, the Black Gate of Mordor

Once Again, these are just rumors (It'd be great though if all this stuff made it back in, hey anything's possible..
)

The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King received 11 Oscars� at the 76th Annual Awards ceremony of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, including Best Picture and Best Director- Peter Jackson.

Ngila Dickson Wins Costume Designers Guild Award for The Return of the King

The Costume Designers Guild (CDG) announced winners in five categories of theatrical films, television and commercials of its 2004 Excellence in Costume Design Awards. The Sixth Annual CDG Awards were presented yesterday at a black-tie banquet from the International Ballroom of the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Anjelica Huston was mistress of ceremonies of the Awards for the fifth time. Presiding over the event was CDG President Dr. Deborah Nadoolman Landis. CDG officer Mary Rose supervised the Guild's awards competition.

The Return of the King Wins Empire Award for Best Film of the Year!

The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King received three awards in the annual Empire Magazine Awards ceremony in London. The film received Best Film of the Year, the Sony Ericsson Scene of the Year (Ride of the Rohirrim), and Best British Actor (Andy Serkis- Gollum).

The film was awarded Best Motion Picture - Drama, Best Director - Peter Jackson, Best Original Score - Howard Shore, and Best Original Song - "Into the West" by Annie Lennox, Howard Shore and Fran Walsh
