Found out there were some problems with the mp3s. Everything is back up now, and downloading should be more reliable, although geocities' tiny transfer limit still sucks. Two mp3s from Rising Wildfires will seriously be up in a few days, I promise. Hard at work on the new EP, no title or track listing yet. Still awaiting new reviews on both releases.

The first review of
1st is finally up at Delusions of Adequacy. If you got to this site because you read the review and clicked on the link, and you're interested in a copy of the EP, send me an email - if only a few people are interested I'll send you one for free, if a bunch of people start requesting them I'm gonna charge a dollar. Not bad either way. The same goes for the full-length Rising Wildfires - mp3's from it should be up within the week... don't forget that you can just download all the mp3's for 1st, although it'll obviously be sans artwork... hell, I could just send you that too if you really want it. That's all for now.

Added some stuff to the Bio page. Also posted the first 'behind the music' entry on the music page.

So I'm gonna drop the 'third person narrative' point of view and just shoot from the hip. This is Wil, and I'm writing this from Pittsburgh (don't ask). Things have been pretty up and down recently.
Rising Wildfires, as last reported, is go, but I have yet to distribute it for primarily technical reasons. The split EP with Woody is still in the works... Woody's technical problems took a hell of a lot longer than expected. Disappointingly, I'm still waiting on reviews... it's taking a lot longer than expected, though much of it has to do with the holidays.
But what's really cool is that I've finally been able to see/jam with Joe, the drummer from Billy Baru (my pre - move to LA band). And as we listened to the new Lost on Purpose CD he exclaimed how much cooler the songs seemed cause I was giving him a little VH1 storytellers on each one. So, whenever I have time, I'm going to post the story behind each LOP song... hopefully you all enjoy it.
That's all for now, keep it real in '04.

It is finished.
Rising Wildfires is finally a reality.
Also, Wil is going home to Cleveland for Christmas and New Years.

Winter has arrived in Hollywood... er, wait, maybe not. But it
is cold when I wake up in the morning.
Yesterday the finishing touches were put on the tracks for the
Woody Whatever vs Wil Holland split EP. Woody's having technical issues at the moment, but a Christmas release date is still very likely.
Expect to ring in 2004 with the highly anticipated follow-up to
1st. The new Lost on Purpose release will officially be the full-length Rising Wildfires. The tentative 10-song track list includes the formerly envisioned LOP single as the title track. What's more, the cover art will be done by Eshom Nelms, co-writer/director of the indie film Squirrel Trap.
Nov 24   TONS OF NEWS
The extended single will no longer be released... again. This is a good thing, however, because now it will either be a 5-6 song EP or a 10-12 song full-length. More is good.
Lost on Purpose will be featured on the soundtrack to an independent film called 'Squirrel Trap.' Some of Wil's older songs will also be in the movie. It will be shown at film festivals in the ensuing months.
Wil is now a reviewer for the music review site Delusions of Adequacy at
www.adequacy.net
His first review (of the excellent band Mono) was published today. Check it out.
The split EP with Woody Whatever is still on schedule. A Christmas release date is likely.

Good stuff. The Lost on Purpose song 'friends' has just been added to Deep Elm Records' 'Emo Diaries' compilation series. We are on the 10th and final chapter of the series, and we're really excited because this is our first pro release.
Check it out at
www.deepelm.com
Also, LOP's first single
rising wildfires is currently being mixed and mastered... the mp3 will be up soon.
Nov 9
Wil will (interesting...) be using his name rather than the Lost on Purpose nomicker for the split EP with Woody Whatever, which will be called Woody Whatever vs Wil Holland. Look for more straightforward and accessible tunes on the collaboration.
Nov 7
A track from Wil's old band Billy Baru has been put on an indie rock compilation CD which accompanies the Blod music zine. Check it out:

Nov 4
Plans have changed yet again, this time for the better... the previously envisioned single is back, and production on the song, called
rising wildfires, is nearly finished. It will be an extended single with (most likely) three other news songs. Also look for an upcoming split EP with Dayton's lo-fi pop masters (no, not them) Woody Whatever.
Oct 29
Due to production difficulties, the 1st EP has only recently been distributed despite being officially released on Oct 12. As a result, the single to be released on Nov. 4 has been scrapped. Something will be done to replace it so keep checking back.
Oct 12
1st EP is out of the gates...
Oct 1
The follow up to the 1st EP, set for a Nov. 4 release, will be a 4-song single/EP. Track listing to be released soon
Sept 25
Denton Clayton, formerly of The Luxus, has joined on board on bass. We are currently working on an EP.
