Name: Scott

Full Name: Scott Joseph Kirila

Instrument: A six-string electric guitar.

Birthday: Somewhere between the 16th and 18th of February, 1984.

Current Residence: Southwestern Ohio.  Yes, the legends are true.  Such a place DOES indeed exist. All the myths and fairy tales you heard when you were a child are actually true.  Ohio is both REAL and INHABITABLE.  I know, I couldn't believe at first.  But you can't argue with the truth.  Well...I suppose you can...you'd just be wrong.  And I'm sure people might point and laugh, at least until they got bored and walked away.

Birthplace: York, PA.

Church: Crossroads Communtiy Church.

Favorite Color: I've always been a fan of black.  Can't explain it.  I just really like it.  That and blue.  Maybe even orange.  But blue is probably my favorite.  Especially royal blue.

Favorite Foods:  Italian and Tex-Mex.;  Sandwiches; Pizza; Fast food; Cereal.  Brains...oh, er...come on Scott, remember your zombie training.  I mean...uh, pigsfeet.  Er, yeah....gotta love those pigsfeet...and by pigsfeet, I mean brains.........DAG

Where do you go to school?  What do you study?: I guess you could say I go to Raymond Walters College, a branch campus of the University of Cincinnati.  Beyond that, I don't know what I'm doing.  Maybe something in music...hopefully.

Marital Status: The chicks love me.  I can't see myself being chained down by just one.  Though it makes the roosters jealous.  But they know I could take them any time, any place.

Favorite cereal: Ah, finally.  The most important part of the bio.  You have to understand...I eat cereal... A LOT.  It's like my lifeblood...only chunky, usually made from rice, and served in a bowl with milk.  My favorite cereals are as follows: Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Peanut Butter Crunch, Lucky Charms, Froot Loops, Corn Pops, Honey Nut Cheerios, Raisin Bran, and Raisin Nut Bran.

Favorite Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle: All the cool people say Raphael, so I'm going to go with Donatello.

Favorite sports team:
I don't really watch sports.  Though it's always fun to go to a baseball game.

Musical influence:
First and foremost Five Iron Frenzy and anything branching off from that.  Other than that, Nobou Uematsu, Metallica, Disney and their addictive songs, NOFX, maybe some jazz and blues here and there, my brother (who got me started on guitar and taught me the basics), and probably some of the local scene.

Favorite bands: Five Iron Frenzy and its offspring (like Brave Saint Saturn, Yellow Second, Dennis Bayne...and maybe even Roper...if they ever release anything), Skuf, older NOFX stuff, the Aquabats, some Reel Big Fish, some Metallica, and other bands I really can't remember right now.

Favorite song(s) to play: Native Patriot and Ten.  Probably Stars That Burn when we finish it.

Favorite Bible verses: Probably the whole book of I Corinthians.

Other favorite stuff:
I used to skateboard a lot, but I don't do that much anymore.  I guess it still makes the list, though.  I'm a big fan of anime.  I like vending machines a lot, too.  What else...oh yeah...I love videogames more than is probably healthy for me.  I like going out places with people, especially to see a movie or grab some food.  Mini-golf would probably make it on here if I spent the time and money to go play.  And as mentioned before, I like cereal almost every day of the week.

Brand of equipment you use:
A sticker-plastered Yamaha Pacifica dual-humbucker (with a sticker and some electrical tape covering the loosened neck pickup) and a Crate GFX-212t 120 W amp/speaker combo.

Hopes & Dreams: I hope that I can follow God's Will and surrender all to Him.  I dream of the places He might lead me.

What do you like best about being in a band?:
I wanted to be in a band ever since I started playing.  I jumped on the chance to be able to play with these guys.  It really is an amazing experience to witness to people through music...to see the way God can touch lives through rhythms and melodies.

Pets: I used to have a dog or two WAY back in the day, along with some fish every now and then.  I think there was a turtle somewhere in there.  But the fish and turtle proved that I suck at taking care of pets.  At least when I was 10.

If you had a side-project, what would it be called?:
Speaking of Tomorrow.  I don't know.  I just made that up.  Sounds like some emo/punk band thing.

How long have you been playing your respective instrument?:
:I started playing when my brother started playing guitar.  We got this cool classical guitar at a garage sale, and I learned on that.  Everything my brother did back then was cool, because he's my big brother.  So that was around the time I graduated from Junior High.  I guess that makes it around 6 years since I started.

Talent is nothing without..?
Discipline and hard work.  Geniuses may excel at first....but if they don't learn how to practice diligently, they'll never grow.  The line between unpolished and refined talent is obvious.  You can't rely on talent forever.  It will just disappoint you.

Anything you want to add or comment on: Go study music.  It helps.  At the very least, go to the nearest guitar store and buy a book on how to play guitar.  Even better, get a book about jazz guitar.  The first page will keep you busy for a while.  It's just that intensive.  But don't neglect training your ear, both pitch and rhythm-wise.  Knowing music theory without an ear for music is tough, as is having an ear and not knowing any theory.
