If I can make this story short, I will.  Lostasai originally started as three dreams (if not, then more):The original guitarist, Jarod Patton, and Heather started two-piece band that played the Waynesville United Methodist Church and once at a Church Camp.  Matt and -jo., who were brother and sister had written some songs together and played around as well.  Scott and Adam went to the same school and they had a band, or at least, they wanted to have a band.
They were all big time and had record deals.  No, wait, that wasn't them... As time went on, Jarod and Heather realized that they needed and wanted more members in order to get a better sound.  They knew that their friend -jo. had a beautiful voice, and their other friend, her brother, Matt, was a really talented musician. In the meantime, -jo. and Matt wanted someone else to jam with. They decided to become one.  They were originally known as
Random Name Productions.
They played their first concert at Paramount's Kings Island on July 21st, 2002.  They also played one show after that without Jarod, mostly b/c he had decided that this band was not his calling.  Random Name called it quits, and no one played with anyone for quite a while.
     In August, 2002,
Matt introduced Heather to his good friend Scott, who plays guitar.  We decided to stick with the name that Matt and Heather wanted, mostly because it had the coolest logo. And because it was based on the first Ninja Turtles movie. I mean, what could be cooler? Lostasai. Everyone else hates it. <tear> (not true, the -jo. interjects) After a few practices, we realized that a new sound started to come out of us, and that we needed something to help with this sound. We decided that this sound was sorta ska related. We needed horns! So, Heather offered to find a trumpet player, and Scott already new the perfect saxophone player. Travis, the loudest and most talented trumpet player Heather knew, was very eager to join.  Adam, who, oddly enough, knew most of the band members already, was even more excited to join because he and Scott had started the dream of a band so many years ago.
Somehow our bassists keep getting eaten by the Bermuda triangle. But after Scott and Matt switched off for a while,  Matt settled into playing bass... and our new trombonist  is top secret classified information. for now we'll call him S.H.A.M.U.L. Other than that, look for us soon at a
kool-aid packet vending machine near you.
