The Commodes are a three piece novelty rock and roll band from Chicago. Their style consists of a quirky power pop sound. Influenced by bad 70's television, truckers and beer, Commodes lyrics are a hodge podge of those genres and much more.
Let us meet the band!
(Keyboardist/Vocalist) Angry Elmer has played in several Chicago bands. Starting with South Side rockers (The Shift) and (The Dunlops) in which he gained the experience needed to play in front of crowds. Elmer later joined up with the pop band (Shades Of Grey) as well as hillbilly rockers (The Electric Rednecks.) He also plays with the pop group (Dizzy Stick.) In between all of this music stuff, Elmer starred in two MPTG (Monroe Park Theatre Guild) productions. (The Who's Tommy and Jesus Christ Superstar.) Elmer enjoys drinking liquor.
(Drummer) Paul "The Big Ragu" Frigo studied latin jazz percussion in his youth as well as classical composition which molded him into the accomplished drummer that he is today. The Big Ragu played around Chicago for many years with pop group (Deep End) and later joined and was kicked out of (Foam Rubber.) He can often be found at a bar on the North Side of Chicago. Paul Frigo enjoys band rehearsal.
The third integral piece in this Chicago based novelty act is (Guitarist/Vocalist) Steve "The Kernel" Crapper. Steve has played guitar with (Foam Rubber), (Shades of Grey), (The Electric Rednecks) and briefly with (Aunt Joan.) Since then he has been writing lyrics and arranging many complicated 3 chord songs. The Kernel is a philanthropist of sorts.
