Los Altos scored in the second inning when DH Matt Chambers launched the first of his two doubles to right center field. After 1B Jeff Varela moved Chambers to third base, Estrada continued his torrid hitting and drove in the first Conqueror run of the game with a double that one-hopped the right field fence.
In the third inning, Junior Mike Ahumada, playing CF today, blooped a Texas-league triple to right field. Villavicencio, who had just been caught stealing, recklessly dove for Ahumada�s dunker, which resulted in the first of Ahumada�s two triples on the day. Sandello was able to cash in an RBI with a double that nearly landed over the fence � much to the dismay of �Sandeezy.�
The game moved at a rapid pace until the bottom of the 6th inning. Chambers led off the inning with a double followed by a single by Varela, scoring the first of 8 runs. After an Estrada walk, 2B Josh Cortez launched a popfly to second base for a sacrifice bunt. Romero showed his burgeoning offensive skills by lining a shot to left field, driving in two more runs. Cota continued the offense with a single, and Ahumada then hit a legitimate triple to left center, driving in yet two more runs. After 3B Teddy Martinez drew a walk, Sandello launched his second double of the game and netted another RBI. An error by third baseman Sergio Garcia on a groundball by Chambers allowed two more Conqueror runs to cross the plate, ending the game 10-0 via the mercy rule.
The Conquerors return to league action at 3:15 PM on Wednesday, April 1 (no foolin�) against Charter Oak High School.
