To my mind genealogy is not a perfect science. Many dates are
correct to within 5 years either side of the given dates. Names
may seem to be different and/ or spelt differently. In many
cases our ancestors were illiterate and they relied on the note
takers to spell their names. A generation later,a name spelling
is established, or a name is changed all together. I have come
across this many a time. In most cases unless otherwise
stated, I have taken the spelling of the name that is in
most common usage. This
May Thorpe site has been prepared with love
and attention to detail. However given that I am only human,
there may be errors. If so, I ask that you
contact me so as I can correct the same.
