ASSEMBLY IDENTIFICATION and SAFEGUARDS

Objective:

The emphasis of this course is to train non-technical personnel employed in the electronics industry in awareness of personal and assembly safety, materials identification and language.

Who Should Attend:

Non-technical, administration personnel, managers, trainers and supervisors involved in the electrical/electronic manufacturing industry.

Benefits:

The purpose of this course is to enable staff to carry out their normal daily duties without unintentionaly causing damage to personnel or equipment. This course will enable development staff, administration, purchasing and stores personnel to be conversant with the acronyms and terms so that components and materials may be ordered, identified and handled correctly.

Course Content:

  • Introduction to manufacturing
  • Component identification
  • Acronyms and terms
  • Assembly handling techniques
  • ESD
  • Electromigration

The course will start by giving an overall view of electronic manufacturing and soldering techniques. Course members will be introduced to a multitude of electronic components. As the components are introduced and where appropriate the acronyms and terms used will also be developed.

Next will be a familiarisation with handling PCB assemblies so that the minimum damage will be caused to the assembly by handling at any stage of the manufacturing process, from reception to post-manufacturing packaging.

Interstate and overseas should also include travelling and accommodation expenses. Shift training can be arranged.
