HIGH RELIABILITY HAND SOLDERING
BASED ON THE REQUIREMENTS OF IPC-A-610
Objective:
The aim of this course is to provide industry with the highest possible
quality training in the “best manufacturing practice” for electronic assemblies
and related technologies. The course offers training in the interpretation
of the standard so that soldering operators and inspectors will be able
to make decisions based on three levels of consequence of failure.
Who Should Attend:
Technical and electrical/electronic assemblies manufacturing personnel,
trainers, operators and supervisors. Course membership should also include
college and trade school instructors.
Benefits:
- Learn to define the purpose, interpretation and use of IPC-A-610
- Recognise proper handling and ESD requirements
- Recognise the requirements for component installation
- Learn to identify the requirements for soldering assemblies
- Produce assemblies to quality level 3 of IPC-A-610
- Qualify work to a recognised international standard
Course Content:
- Introduction to IPC-A-610
- Equipment Safeguards
- Printed board assembly
- Soldering Techniques
- Inspection and evaluation
- Rework techniques
- Wires and terminations
- Advanced Soldering
- Surface Mount Rework
- Introduction to Wavesoldering and Surface Mount Reflow
The course deals with soldering theory and develops into a practical
hands on. The latest research into alternative fluxes and solders is covered.
Experiments will be carried out utilizing theory and marrying it with
practical application. It is intended that by the end of the course the
groundwork covered will be sufficient so that by documentation and practical
application, any reasonable task will be within the realms of the operator.
