IPC J-STD-001
Operator Proficiency Certification
(Modules 1-5)
Course Description:
This program is designed specifically for the operator without prior soldering
experience. Overall proficiency will be achieved in all soldering areas.
The student will receive detailed training in terminals and posts, PTH
and SMT soldering criteria of the IPC J-STD-001.
Course Objective:
Students will take a 25 question closed book exam and a 25 question open
book exam.
The student will then demonstrate solder skills in the lab; demonstration
must meet minimum requirements of J-STD-001.
An overall score of 70% or better on the classroom exams and an overall
score of 70% or better on the soldering demonstration is necessary to
be awarded an Operator Proficiency Certificate.
Candidates who are successful will receive an IPC Certificate listing
the successful modules.
