Here's an article that was done about us on May 26, 1999 in the Neighbors North newspaper, out of Syracuse, New York.

Music will rock, roll and swing in northern suburbs

Bands tune up for summer concerts in North Syracuse, Clay, Cicero and Salina
By Andrena Mason, Staff writer

Ian Proper gulps down a glass of water. The 18-year old then grabs a microphone and sings. Proper is joined by Joey Lorenz, 17, on bass guitar; Eddy Sheedy, 17, on drums; and Mike Cherniak, 17, on lead guitar.

Sometimes, the group of four Baker High School students stop in the middle of a song to fiddle with noise control levels. They try to figure out what the tune should be. They laugh and look at the sheets of lyrics scattered across the floor. The group is having fun, and getting ready for a summertime crowd. At least one Sundaya month, the trailer at 506 County Route 10 is always shaking with music of the group. Little Joey and The Stinkers. One recent Sunday, they were working on a show for the town of Clay summer concert series. Their teen band will hit the stage June 24.

Little Joey and the Stinkers is one of at least 30 bands who will play and sing this summer in concerts across the Onondaga County's northern suburbs. The concerts are sponsored each year by local towns and villages to give people a little music for their summertime fun.

"Some people say it's all about the music," said Sheedy. "But you have to have fun. You have to be entertainers."

(The article continues, with information on the event...)

...The members of Little Joey and the Stinkers hope that people who come out to see the concerts have a good time with the music.

"We just want to send out a message that music should be fun," said Proper. "We just want someone out there to walk away with our tune in their heads and to ask to play again someday."

I'll scan and upload the article with the picture when I get a chance to.
