| Chapter 7 �2 weeks later� Nick sat in the rec room by himself. He sat on the sofa, just starring off into the space. AJ�s news of him not being able to leave had been devastating, and he had declined everyone who has come to visit him since then. Dr. Maloney was starting to worry, thinking he had misdiagnosed Nick. Nick never talked, barely eats and rarely makes eye contact or acknowledges that someone was talking to him. In the 3 weeks of him being here, Nick had lost 40 pounds, and he was losing more everyday. Dr. Maloney put him on the watch list at meal time, where Nurses sit with him to make sure he eats. �Nickolas, someone is here to see you.� A nurse said. Nick just shook his head slightly. �I'm sorry Nickolas, but Dr. Maloney has given him permission to see you.� The nurse walked off and Nick sighed silently. Not wanted to see anyone. �Hello Nick.� a males voice said. Nick closed his eyes tightly, wishing silently to himself that he would go away. He knew it was AJ. AJ was the last person Nick wanted to see. He had broken his promise to Nick, and Nick couldn�t forgive him for it. �Nick, Please. Please look at me.� AJ pleaded once. Nick didn�t comply, He sighed loudly. He reached over, and put both hands on Nick�s cheeks and turned Nicks head toward him. � nick please. You need to talk to me. I want to help you. I can�t help you if you don�t even look at me.� Tears were already falling from AJ�s eyes. AJ had taken his glasses off and Nick could see he was sincere. � you broke your promise. You said you�d get me out of here. And here I still am� Nick told him. He was so quiet, quieter then a whisper. AJ had to strain to hear him. Nick didn�t even look at AJ. He continued to stare at the floor. Not even blinking. AJ said and thought about an answer. �Nick. I tried my hardest. But the guys and the doctor was right.� AJ said. Nick stood up, wrapped his arms around his thinning body and walked off. He stopped suddenly. �Please Leave here. � Nick said simply. �I can�t Nick.
