The boots in Crimson Empire 2 are sometimes depicted as being calf high boots with black armored greaves similar to the right forearm gauntlet. These may simply be the boots Kir Kanos wore as part of a Bounty Hunter disguise he wore in CE2, and he didn't bother to change back to the thigh high boots.
