Crimson Empire is the story of Kir Kanos, one of the last surviving members of the Imperial Royal Guard, and his adventures following the death of the Emperor. Ten years after Return of the Jedi, the Empire is being held together by the Interim Ruling Council; a group of power-hungry military officers, politicians, and one very special traitor.
Carnor Jax is the other surviving member of the royal guard, and he is the most powerful member of the council. In his quest to claim his former master's throne, Jax betrayed his bretheren and orchaestrated their wholesale murder. Though they sold their lives at a terrible price, all of the loyal members of the Emperor's guard were wiped out... save for one.
Kir Kanos barely escaped with his life, and swore to avenge his brothers-in-arms as well as his lord and master; his quest for revenge would leave a bloody trail across the galaxy, and shake the beleagured empire to its very foundations. For Kir Kanos, there are no alternatives.
