For You Alone Can Satisfy
In my previous articles, I have shared my reflections on a couple of my favourite songs.  I thought I would continue this self-created tradition of mine, and share another song with you.  This time, however, is a song that I wrote.  The song is actually part of a poem I wrote one night when I couldnt sleep, and I was feeling really lonely and down.  It is based on Psalm 63 and Psalm 42.  The poem reflects the struggle that is constantly going through my heart.  The struggle between knowing that God is always there for me so I shouldnt feel lonely and the waves of loneliness that I sometimes succumb to.  When I go through struggles like this, I like to read the Psalms and write letters to God.  I call them my Dear God letters, and this poem was one of them.  I like reading the Psalms because very often the people that wrote them were often going through their own struggles, yet their psalms always end with praising God.  Some of you may be going through bad times right now, and  I encourage you to talk to God, read the Psalms, talk to a good friend, or even write your own poem or psalm.  It has helped me lots, and I hope itll help you too!
For You Alone Can Satisfy

Chorus:
O God, You are my God
My soul longs for You
I thirst for You, my LORD
For You alone can satisfy.

I feel so alone, like in a desert
Yet I know You are there
To catch me whenever I fall
To put Your arms around me
So why am I not satisfied?
Why am I still downcast?

Forgive this foolish heart, O LORD
Forgive my wandring heart.
Please bring me back to You, O LORD
And hold me in Your arms
And I will praise You, LORD
Yes, I will lift my hands to You.
