How Do You Know That God Exists?
New entry to your Yahoo! Geocities Guestbook  Hey!  I thought, finally, someone wrote a comment in my homepages guestbook!!  I quickly went to the website to check out the entry.  It was a question from an anonymous person:  How do you that God exists?  Such a simple question, yet something that requires probably a 50 page paper.  A question that many people have asked through centuries, and many scholars try to answer.  A question that probably would be best answered by an apologetics expert, or a famous theologian.  Well, Im none of those, but I will give an answer.  If you are an intellectual or highly scientific person, my answer may not satisfy you at all.

I know that God exists because first of all, I look around me, and see His Creation.  I see the changes in season, the fall colours, the intricate pattern of a snowflake, the many species of animals and insects and plants.  I see the platypus (well Ive never actually seen a real one, but I have a stuffed one), the armadillo, the penguin, the giraffe .  And of course human beings.  There are no two individuals that are exactly alike, even with identical twins, there are still slight differences in them.  We are all unique!  Im not even going to mention how complex the human body is!  Some powerful being must have created all these things.  Someone who is creative and artistic.

Secondly, I know that God exists because I can see the results of His work in peoples lives.  People who change from the inside out when they submit their lives to God.  I see how God provided for people who are in need.  I see how He protected people when they are in danger.  I see how people who experiences peace and comfort from God when they are in pain and suffering.  You cant really see God, but you see the result of what He had done.  An illustration that someone told me once was God is like the wind.  You dont see wind, but you see the effects of wind blowing stuff around.

Thirdly, I hear about people who are willing to lose their freedom and even their lives so that they can worship God in countries where they are forbidden to worship God.  There are also people who are willing to lose their freedom and lives to go into these countries, and tell people about God.  All these people must believe that God exists to be willing to sacrifice their freedom and lives.

Finally, I personally know and believe that God exists because I have experienced His love, His provision, His protection many times.  I also enjoy a personal relationship with Him because He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to take my place on the cross, and die for my sins!

Well, that is my answer of how I know that God exists.  It is not a 50 page theology or apologetics paper.  It may not answer the doubts that some of you may have, but I hope that God will use my answer to touch someones heart after they read this.
